Nanowrimo 2015 has arrived

So… Nanowrimo has arrived, and as per usual, it has taken me a couple of days to get into it. Not helped by the fact I was down London for a friend’s 40th birthday party and didn’t get home until the 2nd, but hey-ho, I’m on the case now. Having lost the majority of my writing in a cloud storage disaster, I am going to be a Nano-rebel this year. Over the past few months, I’ve been doing a little rewriting and had a word count of about 20k before the 1st November arrived (obviously I’m only counting new writing towards my Nanowrimo counts). The first post is always the worst post

In November 2009 I discovered Nanowrimo – a worldwide writing challenge with one goal – write a complete novel with a minimum of 50,000 words, and so I did. I signed up, I wrote solidly for thirty days, and I completed my novel. I even did a little editing before tucking it inside my hard drive, and then I forgot about it – on purpose. It was awful. Not the story. The story was fine, it was the writing. It was all over the place – still is. I’ve rewritten it twice since then, and with each ‘draft’ more of a story emerged.
